Davor Stehlik (born 1994) is a guitarist based in Amsterdam. He was born and raised in Serbia and under the influence of his father (guitarist as well), Davor discovered his interest towards music at the age of 13 and chose to play drums as well as guitar. After 3 years of being predominantly a drummer, he decided to concentrate just on guitar, started attending a high school for music “Stankovic” (jazz department) in Belgrade where he completely fell in love with jazz.

After finishing the high school, he moved to Vienna (Austria) to do his bachelor degree and studied with Claus Spechtl and Christian Havel. During that time he became an important member of Viennese jazz scene and shared the stage with some of the most prominent jazz musicians of Austria such as Oliver Kent, Mario Gonzi, Uli Langthaler, Roman Schwaller and Dušan Novakov. Besides many gigs in small clubs, he performed in venues/festivals like Jazzland, Porgy and Bess, Generations, MM Jazz festival, etc.

In 2017 he moved to Amsterdam where he was accepted to the Conservatory of Amsterdam and granted a scholarship for the master studies. He had the honour to study with Jesse van Ruller, Martijn van Iterson, Reinier Baas, Maarten van der Grinten and Peter Bernstein.

Since his residence in Holland, he has been recognized as a successful sideman as well as a bandleader. Among many different concerts, some of the notable performances include venues such as Bimhuis, LantarenVenster, Verkadefabriek, TivoliVredenburg, Theater Orpheus, La Bal Blomet, Jazzland and festivals like North Sea Jazz festival, Jazzahead, Jazz a Vienne, Grachtenfestival, Jazz in Duketown, So What’s Next and Red Light Jazz festival.

Since 2013 Davor has been working as a professional guitar teacher, both privately and in schools. Also he prepared a couple of his students for conservatory entrance exams with great success.
